APRIL - Month of the Military Child
PURPLE UP! Day
Wednesday, April 15, 2015
April marks the Nation’s “Month of the Military Child,” a time to honor and celebrate military-connected children and youth. Wear something PURPLE on April 15th as a visible way to show support and recognize military kids for their strength, sacrifices and continued resilience.
Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, as it is a combination of Army, Marine, and Coast Guard, Navy and Air Force. Wearing purple is also a military expression that symbolizes loyalty to a joint service operation. We hope everyone will take this opportunity to recognize and celebrate Hawaii’s young heroes.
