Aloha Students, Parents, Faculty, Staff, and Community Members of Kalākaua Middle School,
 
I am honored to be Principal of Kalākaua Middle School. For the past 15 years, I have been a proud member of the Kalihi community serving for 9 years as a teacher and an administrator at Farrington High School, and for the past 6 years, serving as the Principal of Kalihi Elementary School. Through my work, I have been able to develop many strong and positive relationships with numerous families and community partners as we worked together to meet the needs of our students.  As the Principal of Kalākaua Middle School, I will continue this work by collaborating with all members of the school community so that together we may provide each and every student with the highest quality educational experience possible.  
 
As I get to know the Kalākaua Middle School community, my main priority will be to promote and maintain a school climate that is safe and conducive to learning where teachers and staff work together to provide all students with rigorous and relevant standards based instruction utilizing current researched based teaching strategies. I will also work to instill civic responsibilities within the students; as they must understand they play an important role within the school community and in their own education.  
 
Together, we will continue to work to make Kalākaua Middle School an even better place for our students to learn and grow. As Principal, my door is always open, and I welcome your input.
